New York lawmakers are branding the decision by House GOP leaders not to hold a vote on Hurricane Sandy aid in the current Congress a “betrayal.”
Rep. Peter King, a Republican from Long Island, was particularly furious and unleashed a fiery attack on his own party on U.S. cable news channels.
“Absolutely inexcusable,” he told CNBC. “Absolutely indefensible. We cannot just walk away from our responsibilities.”
He also went on CNN and said New York and New Jersey Republicans shouldn’t contribute to the party anymore.
“They’re in New York all the time filling their pockets with money from New Yorkers.
